Abstract

Not very well known, the Asturian language (also known as Bable) seemed to be doomed to disappearing the same as other Romance languages as happens in other linguistic branches. The enthusiasm of some determined people took it out from this situation. The creation of the ALLA was the result from the mixture of enthusiasm, good academic qualifications and certain love for the things related to Asturies. This institution, is devoted to the protection of the Asturian language, its best treasure, as well as the creation of literature in this language among which, translations had a relevant place. This article is based on the work of these people that helped to save this language.
